DARGAVILLE, this day. "Is Mr. Paterson responsible to you for his actions?' The question was put to the Prime Minister when he was speaking of Dairy Control matters here to-nightj Mr. Cpates replied that he the chairman aind members were more or less responsible to the Government in the long run. However, he had never approved of Mr; Paterson's cable to the -board. "Did you meet" the Tooley Street merchants in London?" .interjected another member of the audience "I should say I did," was the Premier's quick retort. (Loud laughter.) He went on to say that Mr. Paterson's duty was to report to the board and not to him. Thereupon, a front seat interjector, who had been several times on his feet, jumped up and shouted something_about "funny business in London." "Oh, my friend, you are lightheaded." returned Mr. Coates. (Laughter.) We should give_ you about ten minutes. (Laughter.) In that time he could say about all he knows. We meet any number of people like him." A voice: In the South Island.
