BIG STAGE PAGEANT.

jspisopijs pf m§T9£?

FUNDS FOR PLUNKET SOCIETY.

To raise fund* for the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society, a stage pageant, showing episodes in the history of many nations, will be held in the Tows for three nights, starting tomorrow-

Organised by Madame Edith Baird, a newcomer to Auckland, who has a London reputation as a producer of brilliant pageantry, the entertainment promises to be picturesque and novel. The producer intends to present a series of colourful spectacles symbolical of familiar and unfamiliar festivals, carnivals and holidays in Iβ different countries. National costumes, dances and music should all combine to make the pageant a brilliant success. Four hundred Auckland girls are taking part.

The Plunket Society hopes to make, from the proceeds of the pageant, a big contribution to the £1000 fund, which will make it possible to reduce the mortgage on the new headquarters in Symonda Street. Although this will not enable the whole cost of the building to be repaid, it will so reduce the liability as to constitute a reasonable rental of the interest on the balance.
