( Charges against George Nicholas Jensen of being the driver of a motor car > with lamps out of order, of driving in a manner dangerous to the public, and of ) being the cause of a collision by not being on the left side of the road, were adjourned. > On charges of riding a motor cycle without being the holder of a motor driver's license, and for driving a motor car without having the distinguishing marks for the current year, VVilljain Roberts was fined 20/ and costs 10/ on ■ each charge. On a similar charge Albert John Bovey was fined 20/ and 10/ costs. ' REFUSING TO QUIT. For refusing to quit the licensed . premises of the Panmure Hotel when re- ! quested to do so by the licensee (Mr. J. O'Dowd), Harold Fleming was convicted , and fined 20/, Court costs 19/ and witnesses' expenses 33/. DANGEROUS TO HEALTH. ' James Murphy, being the owner of a ' dwelling in Panmure Road and nilowing J the same to continue in such a state as . to be dangerous to health, such being a » nuisance within the meaning of section j 20 of the Health Act, 1920, was ordered to . appear on June 13. In the meantime ; defendant is to make the necessary ' repairs. \ THEATRE CONVENIENCES. \ For failing to keep the conveniences at the Orpheus Theatre clean and flushed \ with water, A. Hayden was fined 11/ and I solicitor's fees of £2 2/. t MAINTENANCE. William Roy Scurrah, for failing to ; pay maintenance towards the keep of J his three sisters, viz., 5/ per week for f each, the arrears being £20 12/, was - convicted with two months' imprison- , ment, the warrant to be suspended &c • long as the 15/ per week is paid. I CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. 'William J. Brown, of Mangere Road. . claimed £160 from the Otahuhu Borough Council for alleged damages done to his property in consequence of the road being raised 4ft when laid down in cony crete. He claimed £125 as cost of raising h a dwelling 4ft, depreciation owing to * I bad access £25, and damage to gate and I fences £10. o The Court allowed plaintiff £5 in full satisfaction of claim, each party to pay g own costs, the assessors' fees bein<: £5 5/ ,f each.
