MAORI CHAMPIONSHIP.
JONES (WAXGANUI) WINS AGAIN.

The final match of the Xew Zealand Maori men's singles tennis championship was worn by P. Jones (Wanganui), who defeated D. Potae (Kaiwfaaiki), 6—4. 6—3, 3—6, 6-4. Jones, who also won the championship at Rotorua last year, is the holder of the solid silver Ayres Cup. valued at £70. which caa be won outright by three victories in co&se* cutive years. In Jones* case, however, it has not yet been decided whether his wit last year is to count, as the Ayres Cup has been substituted for another trophy sine* the Rotorua tournament.
