HONOURABLE DEMANDS.
STUDIOUSLY MODERATE. (Heceived 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 11. The Powers' Ministers at Peking in a statement to the newspapers, point out that the terms are studiously moderate, covering only the minimum of honourable amends which would be piade by any Government conscious of ns own dignity and duty to friendly nations. 'Ihe demands are not a derogation of sovereignty of the Chinese, whom the '■■overnnients believe to be friendly, but are directed at the influences' both loieign and Chinese, responsible for the outrages by breaking up friendship ami mowing distrust uud hatred.
