SHirS FOR ARGENTINE. PASSENGERS AS WELL AS MEAT. Id their jrfcat struggle with American combines for Argentine meat business, Yes toy and Co. are not lacking in enterprise. A message received by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board from its South American representative, under date January IS reads as follows: —"Messrs Vestcy Bros, have commenced slaughtering in their large new plant situated on the South Dock, where 0000 head of cattle and l fl ,ooo sheep can be handled per day. The first of the new passenger boats built by Messrs. Vestry Bros, for passengers and meat-carryisH? from this country is now loading the tirst meat sent from the new works, and other new boats are expected here shortly to cater for the conveyance of passengers as well as carrying that firm's chilled meat."
