On Sunday night some of the locks on the doors of the Harbour Board's cool j store were wrenched off, and butter, cheese and honey were taken. The value j of the stolen goods is £.10. When the police visited the firemen's | quarters on the Piako yesterday, before j the vessel was due to sail, it is alleged that they found o6lb of butter, a crate • of cheese and 1201b of honey. All the firemen, numbering 21, were! arrested, and the departure of the \esscl '■ was postponed.
