In this the Bishops, explaining the necessity for revision, declare that the Book of Common Prayer must alwa-s be one of the great books of the world but what was totted for the scventeei.tn century, does not supply in every way tho wants of the twentieth. The marvel s ttoat so little change was necessary They point out that the reservation of tho Sacrament is not a change of doctrine, or meant to enable the Sacrament to be used otherwise than as our Lord appointed.
The book includes a prayer for the British Empire appealing to God "to draw together in true fellowship the men of diverse races, languages and customs dwelling therein, that working in brotherly concord they may fulfil the purpose of Thy Providence, and set forward Thy everlasting Kingdom."
The formal presentation of Convocation of the hua conclusions of the Bishops about the Prayer Book will take place on March 29. The last revision of the Prayer Book was completed in 1662. In the new revision it is stated that: "The highly important question of the Reservation of the Blessed Sacrament is governed by a rubric prefixed to the alternative o.'dcr tor the (.ommunion of the Sick, where it is expressly laid down that it must be reserved in both kinds, and used for mo other purpose whatever.
