After a niglit of storm the weather jras fine to-day for the continuation of ♦he National Rifle Association meeting, jut a gusty, cold, rear "fishtail"wind jnade conditions unusually hard ev<?n for Irentham. In spite of all the adyerse influences some good scoring was recorded, although the major number were indifferent and there were frequent, "crashes" of men who had been ; leading. With the Otago match, ten shots at SOOyds and 900 yds, still to be fired West is leading for the belt, closely followed by' Roots, with three others a point behind Mm. Roots has already twice won the King's Prize, but West lias not yet achieved that distinction, although he has "been runner-up twice and on other occasions has made great efforts.
