GERMS NOT GEMS.

Thief Draws a Blank in Bloomsbury. HURRIEDLY DISCARDED. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 10. The startling announcement was made from Scotland Yard that eight test tubes were stolen from a doctor's car in Bloomsbury. They contained germs of anthrax, typhoid and other diseases "and are highly infectious and dangerous." Exciting speculation of the danger of a fearful epidemic was relieved later in the day by the announcement that the tubes were found in Lincolns Inn Fields. The thief had hurriedly discarded them on discovering the nature of his haul. GERMAN OUTLOOK. Stresemann on Anglo-Russian Relations. RIDICULOUS ALLEGATIONS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 10. Herr Stresemann in a statement to journalists, declared that he entirely disbelieved the report that Britain was attempting to isolate Russia. The ."IsvestiaV allegations that Germany and Poland were aiming at the formation of a Cossack republic -was also ridiculous. He added that Germany would re«ret Anglo-Russian complications. The Russo-German Treaty did not contain secret clauses. Germany wanted Russia to develop on a healthy basis, assisting in the economic restoration of Europe. He emphasised that Germany's foreign policy had not changed despite the Nationalists' inclusion in the Cabinet. Germany would shortly be raising the question of the evacuation of the Rhineland on the grounds that disarmament was completed. He thought the question would be satisfactorily settled.
