YACHTING.

PONSONBY REGATTA. ALL CLASSES COMPETING. ENTRIES ASD HANDICAPS. The annual regatta, promoted by the Ponsonby Cruising Club will take place to-morrow afternoon, when a big programme of sailing events will be carried out under the club's management, all classes, from the first-class keel vachts to the popular 14-footcr» taking "part. The entries total 90, which is ihrce more than last year. All event* will start and finish off the S.Y. Southern Cross, kindly placed at the disposal of the club by Captain Harry Burgess. She is moorpd off the Ponsonby waterfront, member* and their friends being conveyed by launches which will make frequent traps from the jetty in St. Mary's Bay. The first race, the 22-footers. will start at 2-30 p.m.. the other classes following at intervals of five minutes until 3.10 p.m., when the motor boats complete the programme. Three black shapes will be used as starling signals and nil races will 6tart between flagship and mark .jioored south. In the event of a boat being over the line at the start special recall numbers will be used, scratch boat in every race being number one.

During the afternoon topical mjsic will be provided by the Ponsonby Boys' | Brass Band, while the ladies' committee will provide afternoon tea for the visitors.
