MANCHESTER ODDFELLOWS.

CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE. The annual conference of the Auckland District, New Zealand Branch, Manchester Unity of Oddfellows, was concluded yesterday afternoon. During the afternoon's business the following were nominated for office for New Zealand for 1928-9: —Grand Master for New Zealand, Bro. J. Pritchard (Ashburton); directors for the New Zealand branch, Bros. C. H. Arabridge (Ashburton) and W. McMillan (Auckland); deputies of the New - Zealand branch, Bros. F. Best (Hamilton), W. Dean (Auckland), R.'T. Scott (Morrinsville), C. H. Ambridge (Gisborne), W. J. Edwards (Auckland), A. D. Young (Pukekohe), W. G. Pitcher (Ponsonby), W. McMillan (Auckland), W. Gubb (Tuakau), F. A. The new distnct grand master, Br o F. C. Perry, and the deputv-distri* grand master Bro. W. Gubb,'were de-' corated with the insignia of their office by the district secretary, Bro. John MeLeod. Bro. Best was decorated with the insignia of a past-grand master and was presented with, a past-grand master's jewel in recognition of his services. A past New Zealand director's jewel was presented to Bro. F. A. Smith.
