PRISONERS SENTENCED.
PROBATION FOR YOUTH. IMPRISONMENT FOR FORGERY. Three years' probation was the sentence inflicted on Frank Lockhart Crawford in the Supreme Court this morning by Mr. Justice Herdman, fjor theft at Rotorua. His Honor said he had held orer the case to obtain more information. The prisoner had stolen approximately £62 from the Post Office at Rotorua, and bad spent it in extravagant living. The statement by the police showed that a great deal of money passed through his •lands, and showed also that the methods at the Tourist Office there were fualty in the matter of keeping books. ' That was a thing that the Government would have to inquire into. He was a young man and under the circumstances would be given a chance to make good. "Beside the ordinary conditions of probation he would be ordered to make restitution to the extent of £64 19/11. Four Other Convictions. With four other convictions to his name, William Henry Paymbnd Cyril Glover, who had pleaded guilty to three other charges of forgery and one of false pretences, was sentenced to "six months' imprisonment withr hard labour.
