MAJESTIC THEATRE. Another excellent Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer release, "The Flaming Forest," starring Eenee Adoree and Antonio Moreno, will head the change of programme at the Majestic Theatre tomorrow. It is a romance set among the fragrant pines of Canada's western wilderness. James Oliver Curwood based the story of '"The Flaming Forest" on actual historical incidents. The rebellion of Louis Reil in the latter half of the eighteenth century, was one of the most sensational episodes in Canada's history. He had planned for a general up-rising of the Red Indians throughout the NorthWest, but the mounted police successfully coped with the position. Reil was arrested and hanged. "The Flaming Forest" is said to give a thrilling depiction of this incident. On the same programme is a Majestic News, a New Zealand scenicentitled "Alpine Snows." a Pathe Review and a comedy. The Majestic All Soloists orchestra, under the baton of Mr. F. G. Mumford, will render a new programme of music throughout, and they will also provide an - interlude. Miss Kate Campion will provide a delightful divertissement. She will sing "Ave Maria" (Gounod), and "Lome's a Merchant" (Molly Carew.) MISS PHYLLIS LETT. An important event in musical circles, is the approaching visit of -Miss I'nj lc.a. Lett, the famous English contralto, who will make her first appearance in Auckland at the large Town Hall on Thursday, March 24, followed by concerts on Monday, March 28, and Wednesday, March 30, under the direction of Mr. L. J. Gravestock. Since her debut iu London some years ago, whilst still a student, when she sang the principal contralto parts in "Elijah" and "The Messiah," at the Royal Albert Hall, London, Miss Lett has been continuously in the front rank of famous singers, being a foremost artist at the English musical festivals, and one of the big attractions at the London Ballad Concerts, in addition to her own concerts throughout Great Britain. Her name is coupled with many famous songs, which she will sing at her forthcoming concerts. In addition to Miss Lett, a line company of artists will appear, all of whom will be making their first appearance in New Zealand, notably Mr. Maurice Besley, the distinguished English composer-pianist, Mr. Norman Bennett, a young Australian, from whom great things are expected, and Miss Margot Macgibbon, a young violinist who recently won the London Associated Board's scholarship. The box plan opens at Lewis Eady and Son, Ltd., on Monday March 21.

EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "We're in the Navy Now," that farcical comedy which had a most successful season at both the New Regent and Princess Theatres, has been transferred to Everybody's Theatre. Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton, famous partners of "Behind the Front," put across even more gags in their latest hit, and they show in a delightful way the humorous side of the naval episodes in the great struggle. Not a naval comedy situation has been left out of the picture. Big battle scenes showing all manner ot ships, and submarines lend a spectacular force. Portrayed by an unusual east, the laughable side of the navy has been played to the limit under Edward Sutherland's direction. The story deals with the adventures of a

pugilist, Beery; and his manager, Hatton. Literally knocked out of the prize ring, they land in a whirlpool provided by tue world war. Chester Conklin scores a personal triumph as the transport captain, while Tom Kennedy, the chief petty officer, adds to the fun. A love theme, involving beautiful Lorraine Eason and Donald Keith, runs right through the hectic experiences" encountered by Beery and Hatton. MAURICE MOSCOVITCH. The last two nights are announced at His Majesty's Theatre of "The Fake," the great Lonsdale play that Maurice Moscovitcli and company have scored such a success in. For the last live nights of the season, commencing on Saturday, J. C. Williamson stage a revival of "me Outsider," a play in which Moscovitcli scored a big triumph on his first tour. A critic says: "Being a perfect little vignette of life, it abounds with humour, whether it reproduces the surgeons' council of war, reeking with prejudice against the unqualified practitioner, or tickles your sense of fancy with Kagatzy's repartee in argument with them, or his rage at being placed outside the pale by the medical profession. With Maurice Moscovitcli to portray a perfectly human portraitfaults, virtues, absurdities, all complete— Anton Ragatzy lives." The box plans for the balance of the season are open at Lewis R. Eady and Son. Ltd.
