ADDITION OP A BULGE. It is a new Renown which has cow to Auckland, as a lot of alterations law been made since the big battle ends* was last in New Zealand waters. Outwardly her profile appears unaltered, tat a bulge has been added to the hull, tint being the modern method of protecting a warship against submarine attack. In the after end of the warship a lot of alterations had to be made in order to provide for the Duchess of York, and the other lady members of the Royal party. The Renown is quite a floating tomiship with a population of over 13W people. The warship is equipped with* modern hospital, with accommodatioi for 12 cot cases, a separate ward to take more serious cases, an operating theatre modernly equipped, and an X-ray plant The health of the ship's company hM generally been excellent. The Renown arrived with about a dozen me n on the sick list, although not one was a serious case.
