The Majestic-—The south drive is now along 22Clft from the main crosscut. A crosscut has put out eastward for 26ft to expose a formation which appeared in that direction. A crosscut has now been started to prove the westward section of the United reef, which should bo in hand during the ensuing week. The reef will then be kept in hand and followed to a point corresponding with the payable ore exposed in the United section, where, judging from the nature of the country, a continuation of this ore should be forthcoming. Obinemuri.—The mauag'-r reports pro. gross for the fortnight ending February L.' : No. 3 level, north section : The drive northward "ii the Camoola has been extended l'.ifr. making a total oi 2'«Sft from the Silversrreain crosscut. This work is now approaching a similar belt of country to that existing on th- (Jt'een and Julia parallel reefs. The last round of holes exposed blotches of sulphides in the quartz, which appear to be making for the full widtli of the drive. The reef here is evidently a large l»ody. and. generally, is of a very encouraging nature. South section : The south drive is along 2C."ift from No. 0 crosscut, or a total of 217nft from the Silverstream crosscut. A fine body of sulphide ore is being carried with this drive worth about l«z gold per ton. No. 1 rise : This rise, which is being put up to connect with No. 2 level, has reached 50ft in height, the full width being worth ]oz 6dwt gold per ton. A winze will lie sunk from No. 2 level to connect with the rise, which will provide ventilation and facilities for *iening up this block for milling. Alburnia.— The manager reports that the western crosscut is cow out 23ft Thcountry h> re is of a good description for a reef to exist in.
