NORTHCOTE'S OLDEST SETTLER.
■ MR. JAMES TROUXSOX. At a re-union of the old settlers of Birkenhead and Northcote. held -ju Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church. Birkenhead, th« church beins crowded, after a careful inquiry it wafound that Mr. James Trounson. <jf Northcote, was the oldest member present, having been born at Camborne. Cornwall, in August, 1539. and he was presented on behalf those present, 'jv Mrs. Allen, wife of the Rev. Alle-, ct j Birkenhead, with a beautiful bouquet as a memento of that distinction. Mr. Trounson arrived in Auckland on September IS, 1562, by the shin "Hanover.'"
