An inspection of the Ist Ballalion of the Auckland Regiment in camp at Xgaruawahia was made this morning by General Young, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces. After the inspection the battalion executed a battalion wheel and marched past in line. Addressing the men, the general said the parade had been very good, the troops standing steady. Referring to the field training and mimic warfare carried out yesterday, the general expressed himself very pleased with the work. He had been particularly impressed by the display of the company on the left flank, who had stormed the hill in fine style. Later to-day the general witnessed a I shoot of the 4th Battery at Orini.

The men will break camp to-moiTow.
