SPORTS AT KAITAIA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) KAITAIA. Thursday. The Kaitaia motor sports on Ninety Mile Beach, which were h«-l<l to-day in beautiful weather, and before a large number of spectators, were marred t>v a fatal accident in the open handicaii. Results of the races held are.— Motor Cycle Handicap, for 3-"">0 c.c. machines, five miles. —H. Nison (A.J.S.), scr. 1; S. Holder (I)ouglash 3."is, The only finishers. Five starters. Holder passed the post first, but was placed second by the judges for breaking at the start Time. 6.U5. Ahipara Plate. Scratch llace. for Ford Cars, three miles.—4. Klynn 1. 4. McKinnon. 2. Won comfortably. Six starters. Northland Championship. for Motor Cycles, twenty miles.—B. Bray (Douglas I. 1; H. Wilson (Henderson}. 2: S. Blade (A.J.S.). 3. Won easily by Bray, who slowed up in the finishing stages. Four starters. Time. 10.23. Northland Handicap, three miles.—4. Hutley (Dodgej, 375, 1: A. 4. Koycroft (Bugatti). scr, 2; C. Burnett (Chrysler!. 58s. 3. Won in a close finish, Roycroft overtaking the winner just past the post. Seven starters. Time. 4.50. Open Handicap, five miles.—Four competitors started. A. 4. At the end of the first lap a fatal accident occurred, and the race and the balance of the programme was abandoned.
