N.Z. METHODIST CONFERENCE

AT AUCKLAND NEXT MARCH.

TEN DAYS' SESSION

The Conference of ilie Methodist Church of New Zealand sits in Auckland next March, and will last about ten days. The opening meeting will be held oil the evening of March .1, when the president-elect, Dr. H. Ranson, will deliver his address at Pitt Street Church. A committee will meet the previous day to examine probationers, students, and randidates for the ministry. There are 14 candidates offering this year. The fixing of the stations for the ensuing year will he started early in the session, and the first draft ought to be soon issued. The Conference will meet for business on the morning of Friday, March 4- A feature of this conference will he the attendance at the great missionary gathering of the Rev. J. F. Goldie, chairman of the Solonian Islands district, who is coming over from Australia to be present. Mr. Goldie was the pioneer missionary to the Solomon Island group. As this is the centenary year of the Methodist Mission at Hokianga, it is contemplated that at the close of the conference the members will pay a visit to the site of the first mission there.
