SHARE IN PROFITS.

Suggestion for Improvement of Industry. MR. HODGES' PLAN. LONDON, January 24.

Mr. Frank Ilodges, secretary of the International Miners' Federation, in a speech at Portsmouth urged that industrial relations could be improved only by giving the workers a share in the benefits of their labour. He added that, if necessary, dividends should be restricted by law. If such a plan were carried out, it would, he said, lead to an expansion of business,

Mr. Frank Hodges was elected M.P. in December, 1923, and was Civil Lord of the Admiralty in the Mac-Donald Cabinet. Of Welsh descent, he went to work in the mines at the age of 14. and later obtained a Miners' Federation scholarship at Ruskin College, Oxford. He helped to found the Central Labour College.
