A ONE TREE HILL DANGER SPOT
Would you be so good as to allow j me to draw the attention of your readers—particularly motorists—to one o"- the most dangerous <. rners in Auckland, namely the c. ei of Wheturangi ? ad and Wapiti Avenue, One Tree Hill? This -Tier is somewhat sharper than a right angle, with a live hedge from 12 to 15 feet high, with -large acmena trees behind the hedge. All vision is quite obscured, and as the actually formed roadway is narrow there ar® miraculous escapes from serious accidents daily. The trafiic !!is now getting very heavy along this street, and no matter how careful one driver may be he is at the mercy of his more reckless fellow motorist* A few days ago I saw one of the buses using this route, packed with passengers, and most carefully driven, escape disaster by the fraction an inch, when passing a fast-driven lorry at the corner. If the owner of the land would keep his hedge cut down to a reason-, able level the danger would be reduced. SAFETY FIRST.
