IGNITED AT PLAY.
LITTLE BOY'S FATAL BURNS. FANCY DRESS ON FIRE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The death of a little boy, Dougald Grant (~A), who died last Thursday in the Wellington Hospital from burns, was inquired into yesterday by Mr. E. Page, S.M., coroner, and a verdict of accidental death was returned. Mrs. Hanna Bramley stated that deceased came to her house about 9.20 a.m. last Monday to play with her children. After they had been playing for some time witness heard a scream and saw the boy's clothes alight. He was wearing a fancy drees suit and witness later found matches in his pockets. Rawina Bramley, who was playing with Dougald Grant, said she saw two dead matches in his hand, but they had not been lighting any matches. Charles Henry Grant, father of deceased, said he afterwards found two matches in the pockets of his son's clothes.
