Mr. aiul Mrs. H. Horton, who have been on a visit to England, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. A. Morrison (Dunedin), Mr. and Mrs. J. Black (Christcliurch), Mr. F. O'Sullivan (Wellington), Major and Mrs. D. B. Blair (Whangarei), are at the Hotel Cargen. Dr. James Thomson, M.A., M.8., Ch.B., of Glasgow, lias been appointed medical superintendent of the Dunedin Hospital, and Dr. Alex. Gillies, of London, senior resident medical officer. A Press Association message from Dannevirke states that, out of forty-six applicants, Mr. G. T. O'Hara Smith, at present assistant town clerk of Nelson, has been appointed town clerk of Dannevirke.
