'FLU SCOURGE.

Blood Transfusion Tried in

Germany.

SWISS EPIDEMIC TRAGIC,

LONDON", January 10.

Reports from Geneva state that the cases of influenza in Switzerland now outnumber those of the tragic visitation of 191 S.

A dispatch from Berlin says the symptoms of patients in Germany are: High fever, sore throat, muscular pains, and often pleurisy.

A popular cure is an injection of socalled '"Convalescent Serum." This is obtained from the blood of persons who are recovering from influenza.

The serum has not yet been properly tested, and most of the doctors in Germany prefer to rely on aspirin and quinine.
