VOCATIONS FOR BOYS.

A LEAD FROM NELSON. It was reported by the committee appointed by a public- meeting at Nelson to organise a system of vocational guidance for boys, that many boys had applied for assistance in procuring employment, and the secretary, with in some cases the members of the committee. had dealt with these cases or had them in hand. Several employers (says the ''Nelson Evening .Mail") have shown their public spirit and interest in the newly-formed vocational guidance committee by making application for boys, and it is hoped that more will do so. Early in the New Year steps will be taken to have formed an advisory council from representatives of trades and j industries. This council will work in j conjunction with the management comi mitten and with school authorities and [ technical instructors, and is expected to !be of the utmost value to the cause.
