" COLONIES " AND "COLONIALS."
I beg "No Humbug" not to over excite himself. '"Colonial" and "colony" are perfectly, honourable words and have a wealth o ment and association which "dominion cannot rival. If immigrants are so ignoran • to use "colonial" as a term of inferiority, le them. We New Zealanders know better, have been a Dominion for nearly twenty years, but how much affection have any of us or word or the status? "No Humbug' seems to overlook the usefulness of the word colonial. How else does he propose to distinguish c * lectivelv between Englishmen and mhabltan of Canada, Australia, South Africa andZealand? Would he use the term "dominionite"? "No Humbug" is sadly mistaken it m supposes that use of the appropriate a beautiful word "Home" is confined to per£ ! who "stupidly and slavishly" venerate EngiaiwIt is used by many good colonials, men a women, who, while they love. England ana regard it as the Homeland of their race, • critical of its shortcomings and proud ot e , New Zealanders. v NEW ZEALAND BOR*.
