A very successful pairs tourney was held on New Year's Df.y, when 2S teams competed. Amongst the skips Kelly had o wins, Battersby, Roberts and Clews 4J each. The annual match between the Wellington and Carlton Bowling Clubs for the Thomson Shield will be played at the Carlton green on Thursday. Two games will be played, the first starting at 9 o'clock. A luncheon will be tendered to the Wellington players at Newmarket after the first game. In connection with the shield match two other games will be played, one being against members of the Dominion Council, and another against the Auckland Centre. The following teams will represent Carlton in the Thomson Shield match Haslet, W. Coltman, J. Thomson, V. Casey ; Little, Perry, T. Wilson, Kilgour: Lundon. Gould, Ritchie, Hosking ; McNab, Burton, Snedden, Duffln : Balrd, Mitcheii, Ball, Fookes ; Angove. Guy, Wrightson, Warren. The Dominion Council team is as follows • J.
