NEW YEAR CELEBRATION'S. ' (By Telegraph.—Special to "" Star.") ROTORUA, this day. Rotonia farewelled the old and ushered| in the New Year with u procession and aj concert. The procession was one of the best seen here, the decorated vehicles being an especial feature. Prizes donated were as follows: Best hotel display. Empire private Hotel: best-decorated lorry. Kinc George Y. Hospital; best historical costume, Miss Dupey; original costume, Mr. Hugh Donaldson; poster cistume. Miss Yalarei Carnachan; comic character, Mrs. Greenland; best-decorated motor car, Mr. L. Binns, of Auckland. At the termination of the procession at 11.30 p.m., a short concert was held, the concluding item portraying the passing of the old year, represented by Father Time and the coming of the spirit of 1927, as represented by a young girl.
