CHRISTMAS WEATHER.
PROSPECTS NOT PROMISING. Up till an early hour this afternoon the prospects of a sunny Christmas were not promising, although the light rain which fell almost continuously from noon yesterday until the same hour to-day, had eased off. According to the Government weather observer, the present humid conditions will probably prevail over the holidays, while more rain is to be expected. The weather during the holiday period last year was particularly fine, south-west winds prevailing from Christmas Day until the end of the month.
