DAY OF RECKONING.
HEAVY STRIKE COSTS. RAILWAYMEN IMPOSE LEVY. LONDON, December 23. The National Union of Railwaymen has decided to impose a weekly levy of threepence during 1927 to restore the depleted funds of the union. Last year the union had £2,000,000, which was dissipated by the general strike and subsequent unemployment. The membership exceeds 400,000. —(Sydney "Sun.")
