J Bound for Dunedin. the French sloop Caxsiopcu was dispatched from Auckland at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. From the southern port the sloop will proceed to Australia. MATAKANA TO BERTH. Now in the stream, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line steamer 'Matakana, which nrrivi-d at Auckland from Newcastle early yesterday morning is to take the Maunga'nui's berth at the Central wharf on the departure of the last-named ve&sel for Sydney this afternoon. OLIVEBANK ARRIVED. An arrival in the stream this morning was the Finnish four-masted barque Olive- . bank, from Dunedin. The barque, which ' left the Southern port on December 11, later ' berthed at the King's wharf to unload the balance of her phosphate cargo from Sey- ' chelles Islands. After discharge at this , port the Olivebank will proceed to Aus- i tralia to load a cargo of wheat for the ; United Kingdom. J. B. O'Loghlen is the i local agent. PAKEHA FROM HOME. Bound for Auckland and other Southern ports, the Shaw. Savill and Albion Line steamer Pakeha was dispatched from Liverpool on Tuesday last. The steamer, which has on board immigrants and general merchandise, is due to arrive here on January 2S, and for further discharge will later proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. CARINTHIA ON SUNDAY. On a world cruise, the 22,000 ton Cunard Company's liner Carinthia is announced by the local agents, the Farmers' Auctioneering Company, Limited, to arrive at Auckland from Port Moresby at 4 p.m. on Sunday next. She will berth at the Queen's wharf. From Auckland the Carinthia will proceed to Wellington, and from there will be dispatched for Australian ports. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. Movements of steamers under the flag of the Union Company are announced as follow :— . The Kurow is used to load at Dunedin about January 4 for Auckland, via Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The Kamo was expected to leave Gisborne at 1 p.m. to-day for Auckland. On arrival here she will berth at the Prince's wharf. After discharge at Auckland the Kamo will proceed to Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedi" Oamaru and Timaru about Wednesday next. The Katoa left Dunedin at S p.m. yesterday for Auckland, via Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and possibly G-isborne. After discharge here the steamer will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru and Timaru about January 6. The Wainui left Napier at S p.m. yesterday for Auckland, via Gisborne. Next week this vessel will leave here on Tuesday for Tokoraaru Bay and Gisborne, and will leave the last-named port on her return trip to Auckland on December 30.
UOTOKUA ARRIVES. An uneventful voyage of 37 days from London was experienced by the New Zealnnd Shipping Co.'s liner Rotorua, which reached Auckland this morning. On arrival to-day the vessel underwent inspection hy the port doctor and Customs officials before berthing at the Prince's wharf. The Rotorua loaded general cargo nt London, and proceeded to Southampton I to embark her passengers, taking her final departure for New Zealand on the afternoon of November 17. The ship immediately encountered a series of heavy northwest sales, which lasted for three days. Purine the storm the ship's speed was considerably reduced, with the result that the voyage wns prolonged by about thirty hours After the storm area had been cleared the ship experienced fine weather, witn a moderate swell, to Curacao, where she arrived on November 30. Here she replenished her fuel oil supply, resuming her voyage the next day. The Mission steamer Southern Cross shifted from "the Queen's wharf to an anchorage in the stream this morning. Laden with cargo from the Pacific Coast, j the Union Company's steamer Wairuna is j expected to arrive at Auckland from San i Francisco on Tuesday nest. She will berth at the King's wharf. ! En route from New Plymouth to Auek- ; land, the Union Company's steamer i Kaponga, which is due to arrive here this afternoon, is announced by the company to be delayed by fog. She is not now expected to make port on scheduled time. It is advised by the local office of the Union Company that tbiir IsUind steamer Tofua was dispatched from Suva at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon for Auckland. The vessel, which is due to arrive here on Tuesday morning next, has been allotted a berth at the King's wharf. According to cabled advice the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer Hororata, which left Tokomaru Bay on November 19, laden with a cargo of New Zealand produce for Boston and London, arrived at Newport News on Wednesday last. Cabled information confirms the arrival at Colon on Wednesday last uf the Federal Line steamer Northumberland en route from Liverpool to Auckland. She is due to arrive at Auckland on January 10, and from this port will proceed to Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Having completed discharge of the local portion of her cargo from Pacific Coast, the American-Australia Line steamer West Conob proceeded into the stream last night. She is to be dispatched for Napier on Sunday next. At the Hawke's Bay port she will continue her discharge, anil will later proceed to Wellington, Nelson, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. THE PORT BOWEN. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company advise that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Bowen will arrive at Auckland from Liverpool at noon on Monday next. For further discharge of her Home cargo the Port Bowen will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. MATAROA SAILED. Having completed discharge of her Home cargo, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line steamer Mataroa was dispatched from Auckland this morning. For the purpose of loading, the steamer is to proceed from this port to Wellington and Napier, and from the last-named port will return to Wellington to fill up. Final departure is to be taken from the capital port for Southampton and London on January 15. TORT MELBOURNE THIS EVENING. Coming to Auckland to complete discharge of her London cargo, and to commence Homeward loading, the Commonwealth hand Dominion Line steamer Port Melbourne is due to arrive here at 5 o'clock this afternoon from New Plymouth. She will berth at the Queen's wharf. To complete her cargo the steamer will sail from Auckland for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne, Port Chalmers, and Wellington.
