BLAZE AT TAMAKI.
OLD DWELLING DESTROYED. Early last evening fire completely destroyed an old two-storeyed wooden, house on the St. Helier's Bay Road, occupied by Mr. G. Kendall "and his mother. The reflection was seen from the city, where it was at first thought the Public Works camp in that neighbourhood was ablaze. The occupants of the house were abla to Save only a small quantity of furniture, and the Tamaki Fire" Brigade, when it arrived, had its efforts rendered . futile as only one lead of hose could be used, the hydrants on the road being too far apart to connect up. The house was one of the oldest in the Tamaki district, and the urv timbers burnedfuriously. * . /
