OPENING CEREMONY. ißy Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. The Citi_ens' Club was officially opened last night. The president (Mr. W. L. Richards) welcomed the large gathering of mcmi bers and guests and congratulated them ■ on the inauguration of the club, which provided a long-felt want in Rotorua. The membership was 130 and increasing. Mr. F. F. Hockly, M_P., expressed < appreciation of being elected patron, a t position he assumed with pleasure. He - was a great believer in clubs, as they > supplied a convenient rendezvous for _ social intercourse, business interviews, 1 and game.. He wished the club success 3 in every way, and declared it officially t opened amidst applause. r There were two toasts, viz., "The I King" proposed by the president, and . "Kindred Clubs," proposed by Mr. C. A. Clarke arid responded to by Dr. Hay. B ___________________
