CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS, 1926-1927. POSTAL BRANCH HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS. FRIDAYS, 24th and 31st December—An over-counter delivery of town letters, registered as well as ordinary, will be made from the Postmen's Branch, First Floor between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. A special clearance of City street receivers will be made at 6 p.m. ON CHRISTMAS EVE the midnight clearance of street letter boxes will not be made. SATURDAY, 25th December (Christmas Day), will be observed as a close holiday. MONDAY, 27th December (Boxing Day) will be observed as a close holiday. All mails wiU close at 4 a.m., with tie exception of those for dispatch by the "Limited" and ordinary express trains, which will close at 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. respectively. There will be no delivery by postmen. SATURDAY, Ist January (New Year's Day) will be observed as a close holiday. All mails will close at 4 a.m. MONDAY, 3rd January—Only one delivery will be made by postmen. Late Fee Letters for Southern Offices may be posted in the box at the entrance to the Railway Platform up to 10 minutes before the advertised times of departure of the expresses.
