What sudden light from Heaven rolls What music stirs the shepherds' souls? A Child is born in Bethlehem. Listen, the joyous angels sing— A rapturous song of welcoming— A Chil_ is born in Bethlehem. The starry hosts around the throng; Ye Herald Angels, whence this song Of child new-born in Bethlehem? Oh waiting Earth and radiant Heaven This morn the Prince of Peace is given The Child is born in Bethlehem. From where the Glory openeth He comes to tread the vale of death This Child born now in Bethlehem. Hope of the world, its goal, its flaest. He nestles on a Virgin's breast. Come, greet the Child In Bethlehem. His Head anointed Is for doom Decreed from birth to destined Tomb, Oh Sacrifice of Bethlehem. Yet sing ye stars, and shepherds slog. The Cbild is born to die, but bring Life to the world from Bethlehem. —H. B. TOURTEL,
