ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD.
The Ellerslie Town Board met last evening, Mr. A. Hewson presiding. Boundary Road.—lt was decided to write to the Auckland City Council pointing out that the board had carried out the work of bitumen sealing Ladies' Mile to the boundary, and it was decided to ask the City Council to finish the uncompleted portion. Dobson Belief Fund.—Five pounds were voted to the Dobson Relief Fund, and further subscriptions are to be invited from the public. Fire Alarms. —After discussion on the inadequacy of the fire alarm system, it was resolved to obtain a report on the best means of providing efficient alarms. Dog Tax. —The dog tax was fixed at 10/ for greyhounds, and at 7/6 for other dogs. Bus Transport.—Several letters were received in connection with licenses for buses; also one from the Auckland Suburban Local Bodies Association urging the formation of an independent transport committee, pending the legal formation of a transport board.
