APPEARANCE OF A CAR.

A GOOD FINISH NEEDED. It is now generally recognised that the necessity for recleaiiing and repainting is equally as important, in a motor car as ie is in a bunding. Juat as painting improves tiie appearance and lengthens thu life of any structure so also does the car benefit by such work. Owner-drivers know only too well that as soon as the eoachwork of a car loses its first youth cleaning becomes the biggest bogey. vV'lien that comes to pass it lo of no use "coddling" the car, but it is advisable to give it a permanent new appearance. A satisfactory job is assured by taking the car to Messrs. A. E. Kayner and Son, car painters, Stanley Street, who make a specialty of reluiisliing work. Satisfaction is assured hy tiie lact that skilled workmen antl up-to-date equipment are at hand as well as every essential facility necessary to the production of quality work. Here the owner can outaai a permanent finish with tiie famous Egyptian lacquer product, which produces a nnish far superior 10 the old style colour varnish. The Egypuaii finish will not readily scratch, ciieck, crack or fade. It is heat and cold proof, and is unaffected by gasoline, ackis and alkalies —all very destructive to paint and varnish. Even tar and mud can be removed without injury to the finish. A damp cloth cleans tlic uirticst car without scratching tiie surface. Thus, the car need never be washed. The harder the finish is rubbed the brighter it becomes since rubbing tends to polish the surface. The heat-misting qualities wili insure the wearing of the hood and radiator shell, which are exposed to considerable iieat. Less durable finishes used for the purpose have a tendency to chip and lade, lears ot experimenting and practical testing were needed to psriect the finish, and it was not oilered to the public until its effectiveness was at*>ureU. One of the beet recommendations that can be offered is that a number oi the iuadiug motor car manufacturers of America nave adopted this type of finish. The finish is itirnished in black and white, and ten standard colours: putty, fawn, chrome yellow, slate grey, brigut red, ultramine blue, brewster green, deep maroon, sage brush green, and deep blue. Many cars finished by the process two years ago look as good as new to-day. It is really a remarkable process, and one which will give real pleasure. The holiday season will soon be in full swing, and every owner, who takes a pride in his car, naturally wishes it to appear at its best for any trips he may make during tho summer. Give your car a chance, treat it well and you will find that it will serve you better. In many cases a refinishing job i-. necessary, and long experience has made the firm of Rayner and Son the best fitted to carry out the work.
