NEW LYNN TOWN BOARD.

The New Lynn Town Board met last evening. The chairman (Mr. W. G. Lovie) presided over a full attendance of members. -

Lynn- Progressive Association.—A letter was received from this association In'- which the board was asked,'- In respect to the sewerage scheme, that ways and means be considered in assisting ratepayers ' to: lnstal the systetm of sanitary drainage. '■- The'board decided to give the matter consideration.

Clay Pit Batters.—A further letter was received from - Messrs. Gardner Bros, and Parker on this subject. The board resolved that firm action should be taken to enforce the usual regulations. '-. Buildings.—The building Inspector; reported that seven permits had been Issued during the past fortnight for hew dwellings. Gardner .Street—A letter from Mrs. E. Frost dealt with the condition of the above street. A reply is to be sent that it is the board's intention to carry out the work out of the' preliminary loan, a poll for 1 which will be taken on December 20. i'Totara Avenue.—The board resolved to improve the condition of this road from the railway crossing to Todd Avenue, also Todd Avenue. It was deemed undesirable to spend a large sum of money, on Tptara Avenue south or the Triangle Reserve until the estimates for the next financial year are available. . . Transport Board. — A letter from- the Mount Eden Borough Council urged the board to maintain the demand for the setting up of a Transport Board. This was * Railway Advisory Board—A letter was received from the Auckland Chamber of Commerce re the.proposed Railway District Advisory Board. The board decided to refer the question of appointing delegates to the local bodies' > conference.
