LOCAL BODIES' MEETINGS.
XT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD,
A meeting of the Mount Roskill Road Board was held last night. Mr. J. J. Preston presided, and all the members were present. .... Drainage.—The board adopted the recommendation of the Medical Officer of Health to take the necessary steps to have premises connected with the new sewerafte. In answer to a request from a .ratepayer tor a loan to en-able him to -connect his premises -with the sewer, it was resolved to do this as soon as a sufficient number of applications have been received for this purpose to warrant the board in raising a loan to pay for the work. Building Permits. —During the last fortnight 19 permits for new buildings were Lsued, of a total value of £7000. There are 36 buildings now ln course of erection in the district. Seymour Park. —The board's solicitor submitted a trust deed of Seymour Part donated to the people of Mount Roskill Ly Mr. F. S. Potter, and this was approved, lt was decided to lease the grazing ot the park for three years. Finance. —The general fund is in debU £900. All the loan accounts are in credit.
Ratepayers' Association. —The Mount Roskill Ratepayers' and Progressive Association wrote suggesting that in -the event of any buildings being erected on the reserve the corner allotment be reserved. for municipal chambers and public hall. The suggestion will receive the 'board's favourable consideration.
MOUNT ALBERT COUNCIL.
The Mount Albert Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor (Mr. L. E. Rhodes) presiding. Cricket Club's Application.—The Mount Albert Cricket Club was granted the use of a playing area at Mount Albert Domain, subject to the ground not being required by other bodies.
Building Figures.—The building Inspector (Mr. L. Dobbs) reported that for the three weeks' period ending October 2S. building permits of a value of £15,996 had been issued, inclusive of 16 new dwelling., valued at t'l-.-^O.
Street Numbers.-—lt wns resolved future street numbering should be done .ltee of cost to tbe householders.
Streets Improvements. — The engineer was authorised to prepare plans for the improvement of Argyle Street and Taylor Road.
