THE TWO-TOOTH EWE.

(To the Editor.) O Sir, —I was interested to read the | paragraph in your issue touching the j doubt as to this young lady's age. It was quite a natural thing for a judge I" and jury in a city Court not to be in possession of the information. That the q bar was unwilling to commit itself to' H an opinion aptly illustrates both its frankness and its caution. And then * came a neat little illustration of an old adage in which the angels figure. A' courageous farmer in the body of the Court came to the rescue, but not gallantly, for he doubled the lady's age L without apology. A two-tooth ewe's O age (in months) is not 24 but 12. —I am, Q etc., J. G. HADDOW. ©
