BATTERY CAMP.
Last Saturday and Sunday, the 21st Battery, N.Z-F.A., held the first of a series of-week-end camps at the Recreation Reserve, Te Papapa. About 130 were under canvas for the two days, a number freing-this year's recruits. , Saturday afternoon was devoted to Iroutine work—harnessing, gun drill, signalling, etc. On ' Sunday morning church parade was held, an inspiring address being' given by the Rev. G. S. Cook. This was followed by field manoeuvres. In the afternoon an "At Home" was held, which was attended by a large number of parents and friends of the boys. The visitors were given a display of team work, and a bright musical programme was given, provided gratuitously by the Onehunga Citizens' Band, under the baton of Bandmaster Bovie.
