MOTOR BUS CONTROL.

OPERATION OP NEW ACT. EFFECT OF REGULATIONS. The new regulations under the Act of last session for the control of motor bus traffic were gazetted on Saturday. Under the Act authority is given for the issue of regulations for any or all of the following matters: — (a) The forms of application for authority to establish a motor omnibus service and for the issue of licenses under the Act; (b) the forms of licenses under the Act, and the conditions to be inserted; (c) the conditions subject to which a duplicate of any license may be issued in cases where the license has been lost or destroyed; (d) the grounds upon which any license may be cancelled or revoked: (c) any matters deemed necessary in respect of the constitution or proceedings of a Compensation Court for the purposes of the Act; (f) matters in relation to the design, construction and condition of motor omnibuses used or proposed to be used in connection with a motor omnibus service; (g) any matters that may be considered necessary in relation to the amounts of insurance or otherwise in relation to policies of insurance to be taken out for the purposes of the Act; (h) whatever may be necessary in respect of the constitution and procedure of Transport Appeal Boards under-the Act; (i) fines, not exceeding ten pounds in any case, for the breach of any regulations under tho Act, or for failure to comply with any conditions of a license; (j) fees to be paid to licensing authorities in respect of the exercise .of functions under the Act, and also tees to-be paid in respect of the inspeck tion ot. motor omnibuses for the purI VT°t L tKe Aot; and ( k > prescribing all m.
