HAURAKI DRAINAGE BOARD.

(By Telegraph. —Special to "Star.") THAMES, this day. At a meeting of the Hauraki Drainage Board yesterday. Mr. O. Gray presiding,, the following were nominated for the office of trustees (five required) for the election on November 1, the present sitting members being denoted by an asterisk: — J. M. Mules*, ■R. H. Heapphy*, G. Gray*. R. Baker*. D. G. McMillan, E. K. Fox, J. Hnmllton. Counter proposals to the board's scheme were submitted by. nineteen settlers of Orchard East and Huirau Koad for a local drainage scheme, for which they are prepared to form a rating area to raise £1000. The-scheme submitted by the Ilorahia Board received favourable consideration. ■ The board .assured .petitioners- that .the. .matter was to be taken up with the Horahia Board.
