ARAPUNI LAKE.

PROPOSED FISHING AREA.

QUESTION OF CONTROL.

As the result of investigation made by the chief ranger (Mr. G. F. Yerex), he reported to the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society last evening that 16J miles of the Waikato River above the Arapuni dam, and including the Mangare, Te Rimu, and Mangawhio Streams, would be in the Auckland society's area. "Were is possible to extend the boundary as far south as the fijjUs, the Auckland society would have control of the whole lake," added the ranger, who said that the waters referred to would be ol great value as spawning grounds and liberation areas. The president said that the matter would be discussed at a later date.
