GAMES TO PLAY.
THE ADVERTISEMENT GAME. A number of advertisements are cut oat of newspapers and magazines. Bits of paper are pasted over parts of each advertisement, so that only portions are visible- to the players. The game is to try and fill in the blanks. _f well-known . advertisements are used the organiser ■ of this game will find that, with a little I ingenuity, a well-known advertisement ; can be defaced in such a way that it I will hardly be recognised. THP PING-PONG RACE. •Tie children, on their hands and I taees, line up ou tiie floor at one end j if. the room. In front of each child a I ping-pong ball is placed. At the word | go, each child tries to blow his ball 1 along the floor. The winning post for 1 the race is a piece of string stretched across ths room a few inches from the I floor. THE SMELLING GAME. This is a great game, as well as being interesting and instructive. Hung on a line stretched across the room are some little muslin bags containing articles with a strong smell, such as dried lavender, rose leaves, cloves, coffee, tea, etc. Each competitor is allowed to "sniff" each bag, and is then asked to write down what he (or she) thinks each bag contains. Of course the bags must not be handled. In order to make the competition as difficult as possible it is as well to have two bags exactly f'ike, and tj have at least one contain- ■ ing something without any very pro- ; nounced perfume.
