THE EGG MARKET.
'SYDNEY PRICES. The Wholesale price of best graded eggs in Sydney on October 11 was 1/4 per dozen The co-operative poo] adheres to the higher rate 01 1/6. Exports this year have been heavy. Thi s fact is not altogether explained by the increased surplus of production, but is also due in part to the pool's effort to maintain rates at a remunerative level. Consignments this year on account of otber firms have been negligible. It is becoming increasingly evident, however (says the "Sydney Morning Herald") that, if poultry farming is to pay, some effort must be made to dispose of the surplus of the flush season, for which there is no outlet within the Commonwealth. Low prices are unsatisfactory from every point of view. Pullets' sizes have been reduced Id to 1/ per dozen. The margin between the prices of pullets and mediums is now 2d.
