MAN WHO HELPED HIMSELF. AMOK IN LIVERPOOL. LONDON, October 14. A sensation was caused in Liverpool yesterday when a man was seen rushing along the street followed by cries of "Stop thief" from a pursuer. A crowd joined in the chase and the man turned round and fired point blank with a revolver at bis followers, hitting two. A policeman attempted to fell the fugitive with bis baton but. was wounded. Eventually the man . was arrested. It transpired that the man had entered a bank and held up the staff with a loaded revolver. When the cashier attempted to prevent the intruder rifling the till he was fired upon and seriously wounded. The thief then dashed into the street, and a subsequent examination showed that only a few shillings had been taken. Two of the wounded men are in a critical condition.
