£700 PER FOOT OFFERED. RESERVE NOT REACHED. A freehold city property which was acquired some six years ago by the Public Trustee was offered by auction yesterday afternoon 'by Messrs. Bufherford, Robinson and Austin, but after reaching £700 it wae withdrawn as the reserve wae not reached. The property, which adjoins the Dilworth Trust building in Customs Street, has a" frontage to that street of 05ft Sin hy 78ft to Fort Lane. It haa an area of 18 β-ioths- perches. The bidding commenced at £500 per foot, and -was followed by £50 bide until it reached £650. The auctioneer, Mr. R. Smith, then called for £25 bids and two came quickly, but there was no further offer and the property wae withdrawn.
