LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
ASSISTING TOURING TEAMS. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland: Rugby League was held last evening, Mr. W. J. Hammil presiding. A request was received from the Auckland Motor Cycle Club for permission to stage a motor cycle football match at Carlaw Park. Consideration of the matter was deferred until after the club competitions are concluded.
An application from the Junior Management Committee for financial assistance in sending a junior team to Rotorua gave rise to considerable discussion. The chairman mentioned that two sixth-grade teams were going to Rotorua with the junior reps., but he was not prepared to give any assistance, as it might be taken as a precedent. Mr. Davidson held that every encouragement should be given the boys to travel, and moved that flO be voted. This was defeated, and finally it was decided that £5 should be granted. The allotment of grounds for Saturday week was deferred till next meeting. SATURDAY'S MATCHES. Following are the Leucuc football fixtures for Saturday :— Senior Grade.—A Section: City v.
